For more than two years Forward in Christ has been running a series called "Confessions of Faith," in which WELS members share their personal journeys of faith. We have heard from former Mormons, Muslims, Jehovah's Witnesses, Catholics, and others and learned why they became WELS. While all the stories have different circumstances, one thing that I notice in almost every story is how much these new members appreciate how WELS teaches the true Word of God, directly from the Bible. Our story this month is no different. In it, Zhongmei Cao, a Chinese immigrant to Canada, shares how her and her family's lives have changed since she has come to know Christ's love.
Pastor Jon Schroeder reminds us that we are all called to be God's children through that sweet gospel in Word and sacraments. (I like how Zhongmei puts it: "I know the relationship between God and me is Dad and kid.") This is his second article in a series about our calling—a series that reminds us of Christ's love in making us his own and our response to that love.

Bible translation revision
Have you heard that the publishers of the New International Version (NIV) of the Bible have updated the translation? A Translation Evaluation Committee has been established to study and examine this new translation, along with other English language translations. The committee has compiled essays, information, and studies on the topic.
